Welcome to our History website!

Intrinsic Tones of Aswud - ITA is an organization established to teach and facilitate creative arts workshops and seminars. Offering advice on the arts, and training including the showcasing of events that feature our workshop participants

We offer professional creative training under our own academy via after school projects and summer workshops primarily in the South and East of London, with extensions to the West and North of London to follow.

Intrinsic Tones of Aswud has a number of objectives for example the supporting of people in the community in particular BME groups, that have an interest in developing their creative skills and improving their chances for a better quality of life. It is our intention that creative arts be used as a vehicle to target and engage with people from disadvantaged backgrounds or individuals or groups who lack opportunity.

Another objective is to work with local people who we will mentor, and participants who are accessing our services will gain knowledge within professional live settings that includes performances and stage presentation techniques and disciplines. This will enable them to acquire skills or extend upon existing skills within the creative arts thus extending their employment or self employment opportunities.

Our current project is called: “The History of The Steel Pan and Caribbean Music”. The project launch and event presentation is to be held on Saturday 24th March at 12 noon in the Old Town Hall, Stratford 29 The Broadway, Stratford, London E15 4BQ and will feature Alex Pascall OBE and Gerald Forsyth as the main lecturers followed by Elick Harding Founder of Mind To Matter as well as representatives from BAS The British Association of Steel Bands. This will be followed by Bravo who is a Steel Pan Soloist and leader in cultural workshops. Eversley Mills who is the manager of the well known Metronomes Steel Band.
Together they will make this a day not to be missed.
